Construction site: the Rapas footbridge in Toulouse

We are nearing the end of our Rapas footbridge project, which will connect the Ile du Ramier to the tram (Fer à Cheval station) and to the cycle and pedestrian network of the dyke, with the implementation of the reinforcements of the access deck and the shafts of the P2 pier. Angles, biases, curves... there will not have been much right on this project. This did not prevent us from having had a lot of fun participating in this project which will certainly mark the urban landscape of the city of Toulouse

Stainless reinforcements

Production is launched in our new “white” workshop, where stainless concrete steels will be exclusively worked. The first reinforcements produced are intended for the new Larivot bridge, in Guyana (doubling of the existing bridge which will accommodate road traffic going in the direction of Cayenne to Kourou + 1 two-way greenway). On this site, the part of the pier shafts located in the drawdown zone consists of stainless steel reinforcements of grade 1.4462.

Do not hesitate to contact us for all your projects that require the integration of stainless steel fittings.

Construction site: Ariane 6 launch pad, Kourou, French Guiana

2023 should be the year of Ariane 6's first take-off. We are very proud to have taken part in this exceptional construction site, called ELA-4 (Lunching Ensemble Ariane number 4). This launch pad, dedicated to the Ariane 6 family, differs from previous launch sets due to the horizontal assembly of Ariane 6, a technique inspired by other industries and Russian and American competitors which replaces the vertical assembly as it is practiced today with Ariane 5.

This launch pad is the ninth built at the Guiana Space Center (CSG) and the fourth for Ariane. It is located 3.5 km from the current Ariane 5 ELA‑3, along the “Space Road” which leads to the Soyuz Launch Complex, 6.5 km further on. Its main structures are the launch pad, the mobile gantry and the launcher assembly building. A few figures concerning this huge project: 4.5 years of work, earthworks: 700,000 m3 (7 times the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral), volume of reinforced concrete: 55,000 m3… (Client: Eiffage Génie Civil)

Construction site in Mauritius

Our SAMT Mauritius team is still at work on the A1-M1 connecting viaduct, which spans the cliff of Grande-Rivière-Nord-Ouest (GRNO). An indispensable link in the project that will connect the A1 and M1 roads. We are working on installing the reinforcements for the voussoirs and the pylons on the two piers and will soon begin the voussoirs on abutments. (Client: TGBV)

History of a frame

A few months ago, we told you about this new construction site: the Rapas footbridge in Toulouse. We are supplying and installing the reinforcements for the cable-stayed footbridge which will soon connect the Ile du Ramier to the tram (Fer à Cheval station) and to the cycle and pedestrian network of the dyke (Client: Eiffage GC). In a few posts, we will tell you the story of one of the anchor posts for the guy wires of the footbridge. CGI credit: Grimshaw

For us, everything starts with a plan, which becomes a rebar execution plan. SAMT Ingenierie provides us with detailed 3D plans that we dissect to put the parts into production.

This "cage" was prefabricated in our factory in Saint-Chamas (13, France) by integrating the traction inserts of the stays and all the couplers of the intermediate floor. According to the plan of course. Have you seen the complexity?

Transport from Saint-Chamas (13) to Toulouse (31) of the “cage”. It weighs about 13 tons with the plates. The dimensions of the package: 1.20 m x 3.0 m x 10.0 m. What a beautiful baby!

Laying on the inclined formwork on the construction site. All this process has allowed a significant gain on the schedule of our client: Eiffage GC. Obviously, you have to ask him if he is happy!

Victory!

WORLD CHAMPION: Mathilde Gros becomes world champion in individual track speed. At 23, this great sportswoman of whom we have the honor of being a partner has farted everything! An immense joy, which rewards a huge amount of work and a hell of a niaque. Values that we like 🙂 Bravo Mathilde!
