New construction sites: railway viaducts near Birmingham, UK

As part of the new High Speed 2 (HS2) high-speed line, we are starting a major project with the construction of a series of railway viaducts near the city of Birmingham. High Speed 2 is a proposed high-speed line between London and the Midlands, the North of England and possibly later the Central Belt of Scotland.

Our teams will install nearly 22,000 tonnes of reinforcement distributed between the prefabricated segments on a single site and the supports of the various viaducts that will be built in situ. A new subsidiary based in the United Kingdom has been created for the occasion: SAMT REBAR LTD.

Opening: the New Coastal Road, Reunion Island]

On Sunday August 28, 2022, the New Coastal Road of Reunion was opened to traffic. Well almost, since it is currently only accessible in one direction, from Saint-Denis to the Grande Chaloupe. Many motorists and motorcyclists made the trip to be among the first to take the 8.7 km stretch which traces a straight line to the west, a hundred meters from the coast.

We started this project in 2014 with the Possession interchange, then the Grande Chaloupe viaduct, then the offshore viaduct and the Dykes... In the end, we will have laid approximately 40,000 tonnes of steel during the 5 years of the construction of the NRL, from 2014 to 2018, to build this exceptional infrastructure.

Construction site: buildings, Guadeloupe

The island of Guadeloupe is the most seismic department in France. In construction, the reinforcements are adapted and complex to implement, which requires real expertise for the installation in formwork. Since our establishment and the construction of the new CHU des Abymes, several customers have trusted us for the realization of their projects: GTM Guadeloupe, ICM, Sogetra, Cegelec…

Macouba, Martinique island]

Let's go for the 6 wind turbine foundations in Macouba, in the north of Martinique. Our team on site must place nearly 90 tonnes of reinforcement per block, every 10 days. (Client: Colas Antilles)
